This bay is the perfect place to learn to surf as there is always small surf in the corner of the bay.

Most of my students are first time surfers and I like to teach them in the small green unbroken waves, not in the big white water as most surfing schools do. It's much harder that way. We operate 7 days a week in front of the Curio Bay Campground Store, 601 Waikawa-Curio Bay Rd

Surfing is my life and I have been surfing this area for over 20 years working as surfing instructor at Curio Bay for 5 years.

I love teaching both beginners and learners wanting to progress from longboards to shortboards or wanting to try tow surfing using a jetski.

Prices
Surfing only:
» 1 surfing lesson with 90 minutes instruction from your surfing instructor and everything supplied (wetsuits, surfboards, and accessories): $50
» 2 surfing lessons as above: $90
» 3 surfing lessons as above: $120

Surfing and accommodation:
» 1 surfing lesson and 1 single bed in a twin room overnight in our BBH Backpacker, Penguin Paradise Holiday Lodge in nearby Waikawa village (5 minutes drive from Curio Bay): $65 per person per day/night.
